Press Release Body = Chinese Glass Snuff Bottle

Imagine the consignor's shock when a 2˝-inch Chinese glass snuff bottle with
hand-painted landscape scenes, which was estimated at $100-$150, became the object
of a bidding war and sold via LiveAuctioneers for a whopping $17,250. The tiny
bottle seemed destined for success after attracting 427 catalog hits online during
the May 26-27 Cordier's Two-Day Spring Antique & Fine Art Auction.

47-inch Mobile

The name \"Julio Le Parc\" (Argentinean, b. 1928) had potential bidders busily
scouring auction lots to turn up artworks like the 47-inch-long aluminum and painted
plywood mobile in Millea Brothers' May 6 Modern sale. The artist-signed mobile had
been inscribed on verso: Pour Mr. Arnold Newman - Le Parc NY 1967, and came directly
from the Newman estate. Estimated at $3,000-$5,000, the mobile sold online for
$10,200.

John \"Doc\" Holliday Memorabillia

On May 17, LiveAuctioneers bidders traveled back in time to our country's pioneer
days as Engel Auction Co. of Ennis, Mont., offered the extraordinary Lang Spraggins
lifetime collection of Old West memorabilia. The Spraggins collection was a virtual
time capsule of relics once belonging to cowboys, outlaws and lawmen who carved
their identities into American lore. A superb gold pocket watch inscribed To my
partner and friend John Joshua Webb, July 4, 1879, Las Vegas N.M. John H. Holliday
had a wide estimate range of $5,000 to $50,000. The unique timepiece that was a gift
from the legendary "Doc" Holliday reached the upper end of expectations, selling to
a LiveAuctioneers bidder for $41,650. Holliday's actual dental bag containing tools
of his trade, with his full name spelled out on the bag flap, was chased to twice
its high estimate and then some, realizing $20,230 online. Another incredible item
in the Spraggins collection was an original hand-tinted tintype of Billy the Kid
taken at age 17 or 18, when he worked as a ranch hand prior to his brief life of
crime. The image sold through LiveAuctioneers for $38,675.

Contemporary Art

333 Auctions' Postwar Contemporary Art sale held May 19 generated a huge amount of
interest. A signed and dated (2005) Kehinde Wiley (American, b. 1977) mixed media on
paper study of an African-American man titled Joseph of Egypt flew past its
$4,000-$6,000 estimate to garner $24,500 through LiveAuctioneers.

Tiffany Studios Lamps and Vase, Coca-Cola Dispenser

Morphy Auctions' first-ever four-day sale chalked up $2.4 million, May 9-12. Two
Tiffany Studios lamps and a Tiffany vase on bronze plinth were among the big online
sellers, as was a 1928 Coca-Cola dispenser, which sold for $15,860.

Georgian Provincial Teapot

Styles may change, but the classics never go out of fashion, as evidenced by several
of the top lots sold through LiveAuctioneers in Garth's May 4-5 auction. A Georgian
provincial teapot of double-bellied form with gooseneck spout, repoussé floral
decoration and ivory finial completely ignored its $1,000-$2,000 estimate to earn
$10,200.
